Product overview
When Copper Ethernet Just Doesn't Reach Far Enough
There's a hard ceiling on how far standard copper Ethernet can travel — 100 metres. For a compact office, that's fine. For a sprawling manufacturing plant, a utility substation, a multi-building campus, or any facility where network points are spread across large distances, 100 metres runs out quickly.
The HMC-IDM-G1S bridges copper and fibre — converting 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet signals into 1000Base-SFP fibre, so your network can stretch over kilometre-scale distances while staying stable at Gigabit speeds. Built for industrial, commercial, and data centre environments — housed in a rugged industrial enclosure with DIN rail mounting for integration into existing industrial cabinets and control panels.
SFP slot flexibility
Choose the fibre type, wavelength, and distance. Single-mode for long runs across a campus. Multi-mode for shorter inter-building links. The converter adapts to the project.
Industrial rugged housing
Rated for harsher temperatures and conditions than commercial equivalents. DIN rail and panel mount options for industrial cabinets and control panels.
Features
HMC-IDM-G1S Industrial DIN-Rail Gigabit Media Converter
10/100/1000Base-TX copper port
Auto-negotiating RJ45 with Auto MDI/MDIX. Transparent copper-to-fibre conversion with no configuration required on connected devices.
1000Base-SFP slot
Standard SFP slot — accepts single-mode or multimode SFP for flexible fibre type and distance selection. Hot-swappable for field replacement.
DIN-Rail and panel mount
DIN-rail and panel mounting options for integration into existing industrial cabinets and control panels without taking up unnecessary space.
Industrial operating temperature range
Rated for harsher temperatures and conditions than commercial converters. Suitable for factory floors, outdoor cabinets, and utility substations.
Kilometre-scale fibre reach
Single-mode SFP extends fibre distances to several kilometres and beyond. Eliminates the 100-metre copper ceiling entirely.
CE and FCC certified
Regulatory compliance documentation available for project files and tender submissions.

Applications
Where it is deployed
Industrial Automation and Manufacturing
Connecting PLCs, SCADA outstations, and field instrumentation to the control room network over fibre — bypassing the EMI from motors and drives that affects copper runs.
Outdoor Surveillance Networks
Extending IP camera copper connections to a central NVR over fibre across large industrial sites — beyond the 100m copper limit.
Utility Substations
Remote monitoring and SCADA connections in electrical substations and water treatment facilities where fibre provides EMI immunity and extended reach.
Transportation Infrastructure
Trackside, tunnel, and road infrastructure requiring DIN-rail gigabit fibre uplinks in confined control cabinet formats.
Campus and Multi-Building Networks
Connecting buildings across a campus or industrial facility over gigabit fibre — eliminating the need for intermediate switches or repeaters.
Outdoor Telecom and Network Nodes
Mounted inside HEPDA IP66-rated enclosures on poles, rooftops, and outdoor cabinets for fully sealed, weatherproof copper-to-fibre conversion nodes.
