Standard copper Ethernet stops at 100 metres. It picks up electrical noise from motors, variable frequency drives, and heavy machinery. In a factory, substation, or outdoor surveillance network, that's not a limitation you can work around — it's a failure point waiting to happen.
The HMC-IDM-F1NPP converts 10/100Base-TX copper signals into 100Base-FX fibre optic signals, extending your network reach up to 20km over singlemode fibre while stripping out EMI/ESD interference at the source. With built-in PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at, up to 30W), it also powers connected field devices over the same copper link — no separate power run needed.
